  1. Ah, yes. Good times in small towns! It's not a true family trip "back home" without a big "to do" at the church (anniversary, wedding, funeral, etc.) and something with the good ol' septic system. My cousin flushing her baby blanket was a doozy. So was the my other cousin trying to flush the dog (!!!).

Though I have to say it was usually nothing compared to the outhouses at church – yes, outhouses, plural. The country church didn't have running water. So outhouses it was. But the church was built on bedrock so there was only one spot in the yard where the outhouses (men's, women's) could be dug. The church was built in 1889. I'll let your imagination run with that! 🙂

And hurray for paid off debt! St. Courtney definitely rocks!
Thanks for the laugh out loud,
    Lea

  2. Great recap Jerry! So sorry I missed y'all–yes, I am from Collinsville, why do you ask? Did the "y'all" give it away? Wait! No picture with Big Foot outside the hardware store?

  3. I lived in Collinsville! That's so crazy that you are from there. I went to ORU for grad school and bought a house in Collinsville…the very south end, practically Owasso, right near the old Piggly Wiggly. Good times. Glad you had a fun trip home and a very happy anniversary to your parents!
