  1. Your inner dialogue had me ROLLING! *wipes away tears* But seriously. I can't even believe someone has the cajones to say this to the face of another human being. That lady DOES need Jesus.

  2. Oh MY, Mary!! You nailed that inner dialogue!! And I love that you noticed all her regalia down to the brands. I have a friend who, when told someone was a witch, said very circumspectly, "I don't believe in witches. I say she was a bitch!" LOL Good thing I wasn't there because the Egyptian in me does not have room for that much mercy!!
You fought the battle and won. I am not sure there is matter for confession but you know best 😉

    1. Oh how I wanted to unleash but I could feel my Courtney staring me down from Heaven. "Don't do it Mama. I can't bail you out." So I actually listened. More proof that miracles do really happen. 🙂

  3. Oh my, made me stop and say a prayer for you both right here, and right now. I am sorry she brought you a moment of pain dear lady but I am guessing you are right and she is surrounded with it. Stay safe in that snow, I am feeling a bit guilty that we are seeing blades of grass through ours and have ducked this latest go.

  4. Sarah saw this on Instagram and was shocked that someone would actually say that to someone else. Oh, her sweet little 11-year-old self is in for a rude awakening! So glad that you were able to pray for this woman and not react the way most of us probably would have. It's nice that Sarah was able to see how this situation was able to turn into a positive. And yes, that girl definitely needs Jesus – and probably a big bowl of ice cream!

    1. #preachit The more choccolate the better I say. God bless sweet Sarah. May she always be shocked by these types of things. Give her a big hug from Miss Mary <3

  5. Bless your heart! What a horrible thing for her to say. 🙁 I work in a high school and one of our darlings called me ugly a month or so ago. I was speechless at the time, but regret to say I wallowed in self pity for fall longer than I should have. Words sting!

  6. Oh man, I would of went straight gangsta on that lady. I have some learning to do….

Good for you for not letting her steal your joy.

  7. Wow! I think that woman has serious issues – I'm betting she's looking for love and acceptance for all the wrong reasons. So glad you were able to stay above that! I'm not sure I would have.

You're awesome Mary – and thanks for sharing!

    Lea

  8. You are my role model in time of stress! Way to keep your head! That way you didn't have anything to regret and you can chalk one up for the good guys!

  9. I read your blog and I especially love your "what I wore" posts because I am built just like you!! My first thought was "omg, she DOESN'T have a fat ass, moron!" I was rolling when I read through your inner dialogue and addressed that! You're awesome and I'm craving farfalle pasta with a little butter and I shall toast to the mean twig lady and hopefully she can slow down a little and think of others feelings next time.

  11. Whenever I encounter someone who is shockingly mean, I think about how horrible it must be to wake up in that head every morning. It helps me not only to react, but to forgive. God bless you for sharing your story. A friend told me about your journey, and I have made reading your blog one of my Lenten exercises. P.S. Greetings from another Northern Virginian, a happy Holy Trinity parishioner!
