  1. I think all of us live with fear. It's the thing that binds us all together. One of the things God wants us to do is to live without fear and trust in him. You, Jerry and Jon have made that your mission and you have been successful. Enjoy your day on Saturday and I know those ladies involved will feel your love and acceptance as soon as they enter your home. Thank you for all you do.

  2. I'm hosting a BIS brunch on Saturday too, and I'm so crazy nervous! I will be praying for you. I also wanted to tell you that, since my kids drew pictures of Courtney in Heaven and we sent them to you for her birthday, my middle daughter prays for you almost every night. <3

    1. You are going to do great Amy!! I will be praying for you to my friend. I still have those pictures. I am so glad My girl touched your daughters heart. Now she has a saint to intercede for her. Blessings!!

  3. Oh, fear of rejection? Join the club! I like to tell myself that that particular struggle is in my past, but it definitely creeps up now and then (it used to be a much bigger factor in my life). We've all got problems, we've all got joys, and it's really awesome how when we get vulnerable with others, we find that we can really connect with individuals we never thought we would connect with!

Mary, thank you for sharing this beautiful reflection with us! You are in my prayers! I'm sure the brunch will go swimmingly-I'm a big jealous I live in the far-off land of Oklahoma and can't go, 'cause I'm sure it will be a blast! Have fun!

  4. Beautiful! And a huge AMEN to 'we all have our shit'! I am thanking God for you and your family as you witness to His love.

  5. Um, Mary? You're my favorite. (A big honor, obviously, since you don't know me and I live all the way across the country and am not exactly in a position of bestowing honors upon bloggers, but still, it's worth noting.). Also….Are you living in my head right now? Because this:

"I have lived the majority of my life in fear. Mostly fear of rejection. There I said it. I am terrified on a daily basis that you will not like me, you will walk away from a friendship, you will reject me, you will not include me in your little group, that I will be an outcast."

This. Is. Me. And I will keep working to be like you, and remember that love beats fear, every single time.

    Thanks.
