  1. Mary…I hear ya! I really do think it has a lot to do with perimenopause. The number one complaint of women going through it is anxiety. This anxiety seems to appear around your 40's for the first time for many women. Remember this too shall pass and that it is not about control…..it's about biology. Hormones are surging and crashing resulting in anxious feelings. I have heard anxiety referred to as mental stress and that is what I prefer to call it. I truly believe these wonderful techniques to keep it in check are invaluable. The problem is at this stage of our lives we are not going to master and conquer it…..until our bodies are flushed clean of estrogen and progesterone and the turbulent seas calm after menopause we just have to try to enjoy the ride and know that this too shall pass. I think any woman ages 38-50 who is experiencing anxiety who never really had it before should go start researching perimenopause and all the 35 or so symptoms that go along with it. I had no idea what it was, but now that I do I feel more empowered to face the big changes starting to happen. The book your recommending sounds like a wonderful tool to get through this journey!!
