what i wore…spring finally arrives…
If my itchy teary eyes and stuffy nose are any indication, Spring has finally sprung here in Northern Virginia. Seasonal allergies are just a party aren’t they? I am doing my best using homeopathic remedies and my essential oils to help ease the symptoms and so far as long as I am drinking hot tea with lemon, I don’t start coughing.
Post nasal drip is a beast to deal with!
Anyhoo, I am still figuring out the best way to take an outfit photo everyday, but I did manage a few last week with Jerry’s help.
I am a classic apple shape, which means I am round and even though I have a definable waist, the most flattering styles are an empire waist and straight lines. For example, the pencil skirt is my friend. The outfit below features two pieces from the Oprah Winfrey line at Talbots. I love the floral patterned skirt in all it’s spring glory. So many different color story’s to play with and the fit is spot on.
I paired it with a kelly green polka dot cardigan also from the collection and a white blouse (tucked in!!) from Dress Barn’s house brand and kelly green quilted flats. It was comfortable and professional which is just what a 13 hour work day calls for.
Up next we have my date night outfit from last Friday night. I love lace. I loved it in the eighties and am so very happy it has returned front and center on the runways.
We were meeting my Mom to celebrate her 75th birthday. More on that in a later post. Dinner was at my Mom’s favorite seafood resteraunt and she insisted that we not dress up. I wore my favorite pair of distressed skinny jeans from Nordi’s house brand, a lace top from Dress Barn and a pair of my favorite sandals. I don’t wear high heels very often any more so it was fun to put on a pair for a few hours.
My bag is from Vineyard Vines (a gift from my beloved) and the beaded lariat necklace had different shades of blue beads in it that are hard to see in the photo above. As for the shoes they are like a fiesta on my feet. So fun.
So what are you wearing these days? What trend has you excited for the coming summer season?
What great outfits! And those heels truly are a fiesta on your feet. So pretty!
Those pretty heels are definitely an invitation to dance! Don't forget the Neti Pot. It tops my list of homeopathic remedies for allergies, post-nasal drips, and the like. Cheap and effective, though I do understand that not everyone tolerates nasal irrigation well.
