what I wore sunday ~ vol. 51…
What a week we have had. Thursday Miss Court was admitted to the hospital for a lovely case of aspiration pneumonia. Late Friday evening after four rounds of IV antibiotics and two nebulizer treatments, they Docs felt that it was OK for us to come home and continue her treatment here. She has been smiling ever since.
So has her Mama.
Courtney is on a heavy dose of antibiotics as well as using a nebulizer once a day for the next five days. We can’t have visitors for two more days to make sure she is not further compromised. By Wednesday if all continues to go well, we will jump back into our regular schedule.
Her appetite is slowly returning and her energy level ebbs and flows as to be expected. As always we take things one day at a time.
This morning Jerry and I split for mass so one of us could be home with Courtney. I got only a few photos with her this morning and she was not in the mood to open her eyes. Yes, she is still as stubborn as the day is long, pneumonia or no pneumonia.
Today I went with the first sweater and skirt I laid my hands on. No fuss, no muss. Grabbed some cute Kelly and Kate sandals, added a necklace and we were off. The skirt is a pale pink pencil skirt from Talbots. The necklace and earrings are Talbots as well. The cardi is from Lands End. Everything was either a gift or purchased on sale.
Thanks to ALL of you for your prayers and words of encouragement over the last few days. You will never know how uplifting they were during this latest bump in the road with Courtney.
Truly, we are blessed to be loved by so many wonderful people, wether we have met in real life or not.
Know that you are prayed for every single day,
Prayers for Courtney. Glad you are home!
What a fun, spring-time cardi!
Thanks Amelia! So happy to be home.
Glad to see you have arrived home with Courtney.
Last night was my son's Baccalaureate Mass. I wore a black maxi skirt, blue top with a few sparklies in it, and an ecru 3/4 sleeve ruffle cardi because it was a bit chilly. Also wore charcoal gray Skechers Go Walk shoes because we had a LONG walk from the parking lot.
Barb that sounds like a lovely outfit. Those black maxi skirts can really be dressed up or down depending on your need. I love them.
I am so glad you got good care for Courtney and that your Mummy radar was working. She is very blessed that you care for her so well at home, much better than being in a hospital. We had two serious pneumonias with my Sam, who is three and has DS. He nearly went with the first one which was an aspiration pneumonia after a cough and vomiting. By the time we realised how ill he was he was in respiratory distress. I now know quite a lot about these things! Always grateful for nebulisers and bronchodilators and all that stuff. I love the photo of Daddy giving her a goodnight kiss in the hospital. She is so fragile and full of trust in him and he looks strong and protecting. Keeping you all in my prayers, keep getting better Courtney!
Rachel – Miss courtney is crazy about her Daddy and he is just as crazy about her. I love looking at photos of them through the years. Such joy!
I was surprised at how sick Miss Court was. I am so glad I listened to that voice in my head that kept telling all was not well. I will never doubt my mother spidey-sense again.
Lookin' good, mama! Praying for your family
