Welcome to the return of “What I Wore” or WIW Sunday edition. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I used to do WIW posts telling you all about Plus Size Fashion on Budget. Y’all have been asking for me to bring these back, so here we go. I’m diving in, stripes and all. .

Stripes. Horizontal stripes even. Typically a “no no” for a plus-size woman BUT I have never been one to follow rules so today I wore an uber comfy cotton knit ankle length maxi dress in a fabulous nautical stripe from @talbotsofficial Now before you say that’s not affordable, know that I got it using a gift card while it was on sale for 40% off. I paid around $45 for the dress which started at over $100. Watch for those sales sisters and use that coupon when it comes in your email. Be smart and but as high a quality of garment as you can. It makes such a difference in the long run. .

It has a very flattering square neckline and a coordinating sash. I have a very long waist so I cut the little belt loops off and just adjusted where I tied the belt.

I am also shaped like a cake pop, so any opportunity I have to define my waistline, I take advantage of it. I paired the dress with a classic ballet flat (w/bow detail) that I’ve had for years from @jcrew I also added a POP of color with these lovely statement earrings from @francescas .

I am a huge fan of wearing maxi dresses year round. They are just so comfortable and easy to travel with. It’s a win win Friends. .
