Happy Friday y’all!
Today is our final video for the week. You get to meet Courtney’s big brother, Jonathan or J-man as we affectionately call him.
How can I describe Jonathan?
He is honest to a fault. He doesn’t do emotional complexity well. He can be very blunt and speaks in SAT terms. He is funny as hell and is constantly surprising us with how deep his empathy and big heart goes. He loves God, gaming, chicken and rice casserole, his family (most of the time) and he wishes we would get another dog. He hates blueberries, olives and cooked fruit and stupid people.
He loved his sister. A lot. He loves Jerry and I a little less I think. LOL! I am very proud of him and all he has faced in his lifetime. I am proud of the love he showed his sister and I am even prouder of the way he said goodbye and gave her back to God.
He is a gift to us and we are forever grateful to God for allowing us to love and care for him. He is pretty freaking awesome.
Love you J-man!!

I loved this video too, Jonathan is so fun and it is nice to see how much he loved Courtney!
thanks valaria. he loved her so much and loves her still. <3
These videos are so awesome; I've loved getting to see and hear your sweet family!
I'm not Catholic (or Christian!) so I'm hoping you can help me understand a few things. When you say Courtney is now a saint, what does that mean? Who gets to become a saint? I think I've read somewhere on your blog that Courtney also received communion which I guess surprised me. Are all people with disabilities automatically allowed to receive communion? Thank you for helping me better understand your beautiful faith!
That rocked! Wish I had been one of those wide eyes shoppers at Tyson's corner….love your attitude about all that. Great to see you both.
