  1. Hello my friend.
Go get some tall, green, spring onions and plant them all around your lettuce. Perhaps some nice, prickly rosemary too. Should work to keep out the bunnies, but perhaps not the deer. Other than little wire half-hoops and netting draped over, I haven't found a solution for deer proofing tender greens 🙁 Still working on it myself since the deer found our garden last August and ate all of my chard in one night.
Time and Again by Jack Finney (author's name is why it got my attention on the shelf – ha!). It was a hit in the 70s. Not sure it's totally up your genre alley, but it's the best book I've read in a long, long time. Also, Boys In the Boat. Again, probably not your genre, but a really interesting read. Actually, maybe Jerry would like that one instead 🙂 Happy reading.

  2. Anything by Katie Fforde or Jill Mansell. I just discovered Jill Mansell after reading the newest Katie Fforde and it fills that need for the British comedy of manners/love story.

P.G. Wodehouse is a good read, too. I recommend the Jeeves and Wooster short stories.

  3. Good for you on your upcoming run, Mary! Bet you will have a blast! Before a couple of injuries sidelined my running days, gosh running was the best stress reliever ever! I started out with the Couch to 5k app (think it's called something different now) and I had never done anything athletic before but that sure got me hooked. I miss it! Your cookies look so yummy! As far as books- love so much the 44 Scotland Street series- Alexander McCall Smith. Have a blessed Holy Week, Mary. Thank you for all of your words of encouragement, your videos, and taking the time to share your faith journey with all of us! God bless.

  4. Color runs are awesome when you have good people to run with you who will be silly. My dad is the one with the green thumb but cuts of human hair help keep some of the animals away
