31 Years, y’all
August 6, 1988 – 31 years. That number amazes me. I’m in awe of what God can do y’all. He took two wounded people, who just wanted to be loved, and taught them over three decades what that really means.
The miracles that have taken place, the forgiveness given and received, the restoration and redemption of individuals and a marriage shared between them, the friendship and trust built on the Truth of our (now) shared Roman Catholic faith… all gifts given from the Lord.
I stand here today grateful and humbled at where God has brought us. This man, my Bear, my Heart, while not perfect by any means, remained. Through all of it. Eight moves, four deployments, more PICU and ER visits than one could count, through therapy and marriage counseling, through teenage drama, one child’s depression and anxiety as well as our daughter’s death and burial. He remained. He fought for me, for my heart and for my soul. He fought for our family, our children and for his own soul.
31 years go by in a blink of an eye. In my mind we are still in our 20’s, laughing and loving as best we can. I am excited to see where the next 31 years lead us Jerry. I love you with my whole life. I am honored to walk with you through this great adventure called life. You complete me. May we always remember my love, that the generosity of God can never be outdone.
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Eph 3:20
