Courtney’s Joy
The JOY on her face in photo #1 and the weight of her head on my chest in photo #2. How many hours we spent just being still, breathing in unison, praying and trusting that God’s timing was (and is) perfect timing.
These two photos remind me of the deep love and trust we shared and of the incredible story God wrote with Courtney’s life. She was so happy and brought such a light to those around her.
She taught us to look for the guiding star of HOPE and never lose sight ofheaven. To stay present in the moment because you never knew what the next one would bring. She showed us the way to love through service to anyone God places in our path.
This season of HOPE and JOY are such a gift to us. A child is coming who is Christ the Lord. He gave us Courtney, a child with a special purpose show us the face of Christ and to lead us to Him.
As I sit here this morning, warm slippers on, sitting by the tree and coffee in my hand, I can hear her humming along with the Christmas musics she loved so much. It’s as if she is sitting right next to me In her wheel chair.
She is so close and yet so far away, standing right behind the veil, humming from heaven encouraging me (and you) to keep your eyes on the manger. To be expectant with Hope for Our Savior is coming.
As I walk toward Courtney’s Heaven Homecoming Day May I never forget the faith she drew us to, the hope she inspired and the love she gave so freely. Death will not win. Love does. HOPE does. GOD does. Now and forever…Amen.
